This mini GEEK weekend was commissioned by Arts organisation Creative People & Places. The project was to design a weekend of creative activity, centred in two key cultural sites in Kent. The aim was to demonstrate the value of local hubs for skill-sharing and future-making. All three floors of Rainham’s community centre, The Oast House, were filled with music, games, talks and crafting, bringing together game makers and players from across the area to experiment and explore. The venue was host to three days of making and playing, supported by this push to encourage visitors to a new cultural destination.
Meanwhile, in Rochester, the historic Guildhall Museum became the jumping-off point for a rollicking set of games and workshops that would spread along Rochester High Street and take in multiple sites of all kinds. Visitors became participants with the chance to collaborate and to explore new spaces and gain new skills
